Job summary

UNC Health in Chapel Hill, NC is seeking an experienced Emergency Department Registered Nurse to join a Level 1 Adult and Pediatric Trauma Center. The role supports both Main ED and Pediatric ED units, offering 36 hours per week with 12-hour night shifts and no on-call requirements.

Requirements include an RN license and at least one year of nursing experience; ACLS, PALS, CPI, and TNCC are available as part of training. Salary range reflects hourly wage with competitive benefits.

Qualifications

• RN with at least one year of nursing experience.
• ACLS, PALS, CPI, TNCC certifications offered during training.

Responsibilities

• Education – identify learning needs and participate in education programs.
• Evaluation of Care – assess outcomes and collaborate with the interdisciplinary team.
• Implementation – provide care to patients with complex needs and follow policies.
• Leadership – support goals for professional growth and unit performance.
• Patient Assessment – identify priorities and plan patient/family education and safety needs.
• Planning – coordinate care with the patient/family and multidisciplinary resources.
• Research – review journals and bring ideas to the team.
