Job summary

Seminole Hard Rock Tampa is seeking a Security Officer to maintain a friendly, customer-focused presence on the casino floor and hotel areas. This role promotes safety while delivering exceptional guest service in a dynamic hospitality environment.

Responsibilities include securing money transfers, adhering to Gaming Commission regulations, compiling incident reports, patrolling, and coordinating emergencies.

Qualifications

  • High school diploma or GED required.
  • 1 year of guest service experience; casino/security experience preferred.
  • Must communicate effectively in English.
  • Must be computer literate; proficient with MS Office, Excel and Word.
  • Must handle emergency situations calmly.
  • Must have a valid driver’s license with good driving record.
  • Must complete Seminole Tribe of Florida forms and reports.
  • Ability to read and understand Seminole Tribe of Florida policies and procedures.

Responsibilities
  • The Security Officer is responsible for promoting an outgoing, friendly, customer-oriented personality at all times.
  • Ensures that proper security is provided for all transfers of monies within the casino and hotel areas of the complex.
  • Conducts themselves in accordance with all Gaming Commission Regulations and company/departmental policies and procedures.
  • Communicates and provides directions to our patrons and employees.
  • Prepares detailed incident reports in a clear and precise manner.
  • Patrols the hotel and casino areas to establish a security presence and reports all unusual situations and/or suspicious persons.
  • Assists in the coordination of emergency situations.
  • Assists in maintaining proper key control.
  • Other duties as assigned.
Qualifications
  • High school diploma or general education degree (GED) is required.
  • 1 year of guest service experience, past security or casino experience preferred.
  • Must be able to communicate effectively with guests in English, specific to position duties and responsibilities.
  • Must be computer literate.
  • Proficient knowledge of Microsoft Office, Excel, and Word is required.
  • Must be able to handle emergency situations calmly.
  • Must have a valid motor vehicle license with a good driving record.
  • Must be able to complete standard Seminole Tribe of Florida forms and reports.
  • Ability to read and understand all Seminole Tribe of Florida policies and procedures.
Work Environment

Duties and responsibilities are typically performed on the Casino Floor in a fast-paced, guest-smoking environment, with constant exposure to general public and excessive noise.

  • While performing the duties of this job, the employee is frequently required to stand, walk, use hands to finger, handle, or feel, reach with hands and arms, talk or hear, and taste or smell.
  • The employee must frequently lift and/or move up to 50 pounds.
  • Specific vision abilities required by this job include close, distance, color, and peripheral vision, depth perception and ability to adjust focus.
  • Must be able to wear a radio earphone without any medical limitations.

The Tribal Council gives preference in all of its employment practices to Native Americans. First preference in hiring, training, promoting and in all other aspects of employment is given to members of the Seminole Tribe who meet the job requirements. Second preference is given to members of other federally recognized Native American Tribes who meet the job requirements.
