The role demands specialized training, physical conditioning, and the ability to secure scenes and guide evacuations when needed.

Four years of security or law enforcement experience, a recognized academy credential, and the ability to pass firearms and agility tests are essential.

Qualifications

• Four years of related or combined experience in law enforcement or security roles.
• Graduated from an accredited US federal, state, or local law enforcement academy.
• Ability to pass firearms qualification and physical agility tests.
• Exceptional customer service and interpersonal skills to communicate with stakeholders.

Responsibilities

• Maintain high-visibility security presence (uniformed or covert).
• Guard and protect sensitive information.
• Identify and respond to emergencies including violence, crisis situations, weapons or explosives, natural disasters, and other life threats.
• Secure scenes, advise on threats, call responders, and lead evacuations when needed.
• Meet ongoing training requirements in legal updates, defensive tactics, first aid, CPR, and related areas.

THE JOB

Join a team that stands ready when it matters most! As an Emergency Response Team Officer (ERTO), you’ll be responsible for providing both highly visible and covert professional armed security to complement existing security programs. ERTOs act as a visual deterrent, intervene, and respond to all levels of security and potential emergency needs including acts or threats of violence, emergencies, and life safety threats, and mitigate incidents through early detection and/or disruption of criminal conduct or other undesirable activity. All duties are to be performed in accordance with departmental and property policies, practices, and procedures. This position requires specialized training and physical conditioning.

THE STARTING RATE:

$30.00 / Per Hour

THE DAY-TO-DAY:

• Maintain a high-visibility, uniformed, or covert presence
• Safeguard and maintain highly sensitive and confidential information
• Identify and respond to emergency situations, including: In-progress acts of violence, Crisis situations, Weapons or explosive incidents, Natural disasters, and other threats to life and property
• In emergencies: Secure the scene to prevent further loss or damage, Advise personnel of current or potential threats, Call emergency responders, Start and lead evacuation procedures
• Physical requirements include: Moving quickly from one location to another, Carrying or moving an injured person, physically engaging with individuals posing threats, accurately handling and firing a weapon
• Regular certification in legal updates, defensive tactics, first aid, CPR, and more training must be completed and passed as a condition of continued employment

THE IDEAL CANDIDATE:

• Four (4) years of related or combined experience in one or more of the following: Law Enforcement Officer, Military Police Officer, Operator on a Military Special Operations team specializing in counter-terrorism or dignitary protection, Special/Security Police Officer (SPO)
• Graduated from an accredited US federal (to include DOE, DOD), state, or local, law enforcement academy
• Ability to pass both a firearms qualification and physical agility test
• Exceptional customer service and interpersonal skills to communicate effectively with all stakeholders
