MGM Resorts International in Las Vegas is seeking an Emergency Response Team Officer (ERTO) to provide both highly visible and covert armed security, complementing existing security programs. ERTOs deter threats, intervene, and respond to emergencies with strict adherence to policies and procedures.

• Four or more years of related experience in law enforcement, military police, or security.
• Graduated from an accredited US federal/state/local law enforcement academy.
• Ability to pass firearms qualification and physical agility tests.
• Exceptional customer service and interpersonal communication skills.

Responsibilities

• Maintain a high-visibility, uniformed, or covert presence.
• Safeguard and manage highly sensitive information.
• Identify and respond to emergencies, including violence, crisis situations, weapons or explosives, and life-safety threats.
• Secure the scene, advise personnel, call responders, and lead evacuations.
• Meet physical demands: quick movement, moving injured persons, and weapon handling.
• Maintain certifications in legal updates, defensive tactics, first aid, and CPR.

THE JOB :

Join a team that stands ready when it matters most! As an Emergency Response Team Officer (ERTO), you'll be responsible for providing both highly visible and covert professional armed security to complement existing security programs. ERTOs act as a visual deterrent, intervene, and respond to all levels of security and potential emergency needs including acts or threats of violence, emergencies, and life safety threats, and mitigate incidents through early detection and/or disruption of criminal conduct or other undesirable activity. All duties are to be performed in accordance with departmental and property policies, practices, and procedures. This position requires specialized training and physical conditioning.

THE STARTING RATE:

$30.00 / Per Hour

THE DAY-TO-DAY:

• Maintain a high-visibility, uniformed, or covert presence
• Safeguard and maintain highly sensitive and confidential information
• Identify and respond to emergency situations, including: In-progress acts of violence, Crisis situations, Weapons or explosive incidents, Natural disasters, and other threats to life and property
• In emergencies: Secure the scene to prevent further loss or damage, Advise personnel of current or potential threats, Call emergency responders, Start and lead evacuation procedures
• Physical requirements include: Moving quickly from one location to another, Carrying or moving an injured person, physically engaging with individuals posing threats, accurately handling and firing a weapon
• Regular certification in legal updates, defensive tactics, first aid, CPR, and more training must be completed and passed as a condition of continued employment

THE IDEAL CANDIDATE:

• Four (4) years of related or combined experience in one or more of the following: Law Enforcement Officer, Military Police Officer, Operator on a Military Special Operations team specializing in counter-terrorism or dignitary protection, Special/Security Police Officer (SPO)
• Graduated from an accredited US federal (to include DOE, DOD), state, or local, law enforcement academy
• Ability to pass both a firearms qualification and physical agility test
• Exceptional customer service and interpersonal skills to communicate effectively with all stakeholders
