The Miriam Hospital in Providence, RI is seeking an Emergency Response Nurse to supervise and evaluate care for patients in emergencies until stabilization or transfer. You will apply the nursing process per hospital policy and uphold Browns University Health values in daily practice.
The role requires ARI RN licensure, with BSN preferred and CCRN/CEN certifications desired; minimum of three years in critical care and experience with cardiac arrests and emergencies.
Under the direct supervision of the Clinical Manager/ Director (or designee) implements, the Emergency Response Nurse (ERN) supervises and evaluates the nursing care of each patient undergoing an emergency until the patient is stabilized or transitioned to the appropriate level of care. Utilizes the nursing process in accordance with hospital and departmental policies and procedures, and with consideration of the aging process throughout the lifespan, as well as cultural patterns. Registered Nurse in the State of Rhode Island, or compact state licensure in accordance with the Nurse Licensure Compact agreement. Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN) preferred, Candidates actively enrolled in a BSN program may be considered. Certified Critical Care Registered Nurse (CCRN) or Certification in Emergency Nursing (CEN) preferred. Minimum three years of current clinical experience in critical care nursing, including responding to cardiac arrests and clinical emergencies, in a hospital setting required.
Visual and auditory ability to monitor patient status. Physical ability to assist in lifting and positioning patients. Exposed to a patient care environment. Physical ability for extensive walking and standing; lifting, positioning, and pushing patients on stretchers.
