The Miriam Hospital in Providence, RI is seeking an experienced Registered Nurse for night shift, 12-hour shifts, to apply the nursing process and advocate for patients within Rhode Island nursing standards. You will document care, collaborate with the health team, and support families in achieving optimal outcomes.
Responsibilities include recognizing deviations, maintaining documentation, providing comfort, and participating in quality improvement and safety initiatives across life span care.
Under the general supervision of the Nurse Manager (or designee), and within hospital and departmental policies and procedures, the professional registered nurse acts as a patient advocate in the application of the nursing process. All essential functions performed in this position reflect the age specific needs of the patients. Licensure as Registered Nurse in the State of Rhode Island by the Rhode Island Board of Nursing or licensure as a Registered Nurse in accordance with the Nurse Licensure Compact agreement of the National Council of State Boards of Nursing.
Certification in cardiopulmonary resuscitation upon hire.
Registered nurses should develop general proficiency as a staff nurse within three months of employment. For specialty units, general nursing experience, appropriate to the specialty, is preferred.
