Job summary

Koch Fertilizer is seeking an Emergency Response Specialist to lead site emergency preparedness at the Wever, Iowa facility. You will partner with Operations, Maintenance, and EHS to advance safety, regulatory compliance, and operational excellence.

You will manage the ERT, fire protection systems, hazmat response, and life safety programs, developing training and drills to ensure readiness and compliance with NFPA codes and other standards.

Qualifications

• 3+ years in health, safety, environmental programs or emergency response.
• Experience with safety regulations in industrial environments.
• Ability to join and maintain membership on the Emergency Response Team (ERT) including fire, hazmat, and technical rescue.

Responsibilities

• Lead and support the site Emergency Response Team (ERT) programs.
• Coordinate with internal and external agencies to ensure effective incident response.
• Develop, facilitate, and evaluate ERT training and drills.
• Develop and maintain emergency response strategies, pre-plans, and site-specific procedures.
• Serve as the SME for fire and life safety programs and NFPA standards.
