Job summary

Global Medical Response seeks a Communication System Engineer to support, maintain, and improve land mobile radio infrastructure across field operations, dispatch centers, aviation support, and IT networks. You will handle tower-site equipment, radio programming, FCC coordination, and system documentation while collaborating with IT, operations, and field teams.

The role requires 5+ years in LMR, radio troubleshooting expertise, RoIP experience, and willingness to travel up to 50–75%.

Qualifications

5+ years of LMR experience with conventional and trunked radio systems.
Strong troubleshooting across RF, network, and radio hardware.
Experience with RoIP interoperability platforms.
Solid IP networking knowledge (TCP/IP, routing, VPNs, WAN).
Dispatch consoles (MCC7500, Mindshare, Avtec) experience.
Willingness to travel up to 50–75% as required.
Experience with FCC licensing and frequency coordination.
Public safety/EMS/aviation communications experience is preferred.
Ability to maintain accurate system docs and CMDB records.

Responsibilities

Install, configure, maintain, and troubleshoot LMR systems and related infrastructure.
Monitor outages and perform testing, coverage validation, and verification.
Travel to tower sites and facilities for inspections and repairs.
Coordinate repairs with tower owners, contractors, and vendors.
Support RoIP, WAVE, ESChat, JPS, and related technologies.
Program radios, talk groups, channels, and user permissions.
Maintain documentation and inventories for radio systems.
