Job summary

State of South Carolina’s Adjutant General's Office seeks an EP Coordinator I to assist with hazard mitigation grant funding through BRIC and HMGP programs. You will conduct briefings, review applications, provide technical assistance, and ensure timely submission in required systems.

The role supports compliance, oversees subgrantee budgets, monitors performance, and prepares status reports. Some duties involve field work in emergencies and drills, coordinating with staff to advance mitigation

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree.
• SC Certified Emergency Manager certification preferred, or the employee will seek to complete within three years.
• Experience in mitigation, grants, or project management preferred.

Responsibilities

• Provides assistance to state and local applicants pursuing hazard mitigation grant funding through HMA programs including BRIC and HMGP.
• Conducts briefings and meetings with potential mitigation applicants; accepts and reviews applications; provides technical assistance to support compliance and technical merit; and prepares recommendations for action by others.
• Ensures accurate and timely submission of applications and documentation in required systems and databases.
• Provides mitigation training and information sessions.
• Reviews payment/reimbursement to subgrantees based on approved project schedule, progress, and work completed.
• Creates and maintains financial reconciliation for assigned projects.
• Monitors subgrantee compliance and answers inquiries regarding policies, regulations, and other state and federal requirements.
• Conducts post-completion compliance inspections and resolves routine issues and problems.
• Provides regular updates and reports regarding project status.
• Reviews project budgets, quarterly reports, deadlines, and other compliance activities.
• Coordinates with other staff regarding mitigation projects and plans as needed and performs other mitigation-related duties as assigned.
