Job summary

The Naval Nuclear Laboratory is seeking an experienced Engineer for the Kesselring Site Emergency Preparedness Unit to strengthen non-nuclear hazard preparedness and DOE Order 151.1D compliance across the KS program. This role blends office and field work and offers opportunities to impact emergency readiness and resilience.

You will collaborate with site and Emergency Response Organization leadership, design and evaluate exercises, and help oversee program requirements while engaging cross-site

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in a related technical, engineering or science field and a minimum of 6 years of relevant experience; or Master's degree... with a minimum of 4 years; or Doctorate with a minimum of 1 year; or currently a Senior Reactor Training Engineer, Refueling Engineer, or Field (RPCO) Engineer at the Company.
• Preferred: Experience in project management; Team building and cross-functional collaboration; Strong presentation skills.

Responsibilities

• Help ensure compliance with DOE Order 151.1D while supporting key emergency preparedness initiatives (Annual Stakeholder Preparedness Report and TRIHE Risk Assessment).
• Collaborate with Site and Emergency Response Organization leadership and provide updates on critical programs.
• Design and evaluate major emergency response exercises to strengthen site readiness and resilience.
