Job summary

Naval Nuclear Laboratory seeks an experienced Environmental Engineer to support Emerging Contaminants at the Kesselring Site, helping adapt to evolving PFAS regulations and regulatory requirements. You will work with Environmental Engineering peers and site stakeholders to ensure compliance, while balancing remediation efforts across programs.

Qualifications

• Experience interfacing with external regulators (e.g., NYSDEC, NYSDOH, EPA).
• Experience with PFAS and related regulatory considerations.
• Project management experience.
• Broad experience in environmental program areas (such as RCRA, CWA/SPDES, CERCLA, TSCA, and CAA/Air Program).
• Demonstrated ability to coordinate and benchmark across Program sites.
• Working knowledge of environmental investigation/remediation practices.
• Working knowledge of spill reporting and cleanup practices.
• Experience reviewing and interpreting regulations and proposed rulemaking actions.

Responsibilities

• Coordinate with Site project teams to balance regulatory compliance and remedial work.
• Interface with Environmental Engineering peers and Site stakeholders on Emerging Contaminants.
• May be assigned additional responsibilities related to other environmental topical program areas.
