Emergency Preparedness Associate Consultant

Founded in 2004, BME Strategies is a Massachusetts-based consulting firm specializing in Public Health design and implementation programming for local, regional, and state governments.

Position Overview

The Emergency Preparedness Associate Consultant (EPAC) provides planning, training, and administrative support to BME Strategies. The EPAC focuses on constructing emergency preparedness planning documents, conducting exercises and trainings, developing and analyzing client data, and preparing reports. This role involves direct client interaction as the primary project lead and acting as a liaison with community agencies, institutions, providers, and coalitions, as assigned by the Director of Public Health.

Key Responsibilities
  • Design and develop emergency preparedness planning documents, conduct exercises and training, and enhance client response capacity.
  • Build and maintain relationships with local and state stakeholders involved in emergency preparedness and public health.
  • Support needs assessments and strategize interventions for health promotion and disease prevention programs for municipalities.
  • Assist with federally mandated emergency preparedness deliverables for local public health departments.
  • Develop policies, procedures, and protocols for public health services in collaboration with staff.
  • Create and coordinate health education programs and materials.
  • Maintain files, databases, records, and other documentation.
  • Analyze emergency preparedness data to inform decision-makers.
  • Support social marketing and community education initiatives.
  • Coordinate and document monthly Advisory Board meetings.
  • Collaborate with regional emergency preparedness partners to identify gaps and support volunteer needs.
  • Participate in local public health events and tabletop exercises as needed.
  • Complete all required state and federal reports.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.
Requirements
  • Experience in emergency preparedness planning.
  • A Master's degree in public health or a related field is preferred but not mandatory.
  • Valid driver's license and residence in Massachusetts or Southern New Hampshire.
  • Excellent oral and written communication skills and organizational abilities.
Working Conditions
  • Remote work with occasional travel to client sites, conferences, or meetings.
  • Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a fast-paced environment.
Benefits
  • Salary range: $70,000 - $81,000 annually.
