Job summary

Under RN/physician supervision, you will perform point-of-care testing and input data into the system, with duties including EKGs and vital signs monitoring. Requires CPT certification and CPR; High School diploma or equivalent; English language proficiency with Spanish preferred.

Qualifications

• High School or equivalent required.
• 1-3 years of Phlebotomy/ED Technician/Nursing Assistant in an acute care setting preferred.
• Ability to read, write and communicate in English; ability to speak Spanish preferred.
• CPT - Certified Phlebotomy Technician certification required (NHA/ASCP).
• Must complete Non-violent Crisis Intervention training bi-annually.
• CPR certification required.

Responsibilities

• Collects blood specimens from ER patients as ordered by physicians and delivers to the laboratory.
• Posts laboratory results on patient charts and records data in the database.
• Performs point-of-care testing and follows up on delayed results.
• Performs selected tasks under supervision of a registered nurse or physician.
• Obtains EKGs and monitors vital signs.
