Job summary

Huntsville Hospital Health System seeks a Manager of Patient Advocacy for Emergency Services to act as the liaison between patients, families and staff in the Emergency Department. You will lead efforts to address needs, track feedback using the RL6 system, and develop reports from investigations while ensuring timely follow-up and satisfactory care delivery.

Responsibilities include improving communication, wait times, assisting with sensitive incidents, and serving on the Grievance Review

Qualifications

• Bachelors degree in health administration, social work, psychology, nursing, communications, business/public relations, or CPE.
• Two to five years experience in health-related professions, business, public relations or communication fields.
• Strong interpersonal and high level of effective communication, verbal, written and phone skills.
• Ability to log feedback into the Complaint Tracking System and RL6 proficiency.

Responsibilities

• Serve as liaison between patients, families and staff in the Emergency Department.
• Lead efforts to respond to patient/family needs and improve care delivery.
• Develop and distribute reports from investigations and log feedback in RL6.
• Improve communication and address wait times for services and results.
• Assist with elopements and allegations of staff abuse; address staff rudeness.
• Participate in the Grievance Review Committee as Emergency Services representative.
