Job summary

University of Maryland Upper Chesapeake Health is seeking a Patient Care Technician for the Emergency/Observation Department on a full-time night shift (7pm–7:30am). The role includes vital signs, ADL assistance, blood draws, and specimen collection under the direction of nursing staff.

A $2,000 sign-on bonus with a 1-year commitment is offered, with certain restrictions. Requirements include a high school diploma and current Maryland CNA or GNA certification, plus BLS.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent required.
• Current Maryland state certification as a Certified Nursing Assistant (CNA) or Geriatric Nursing Assistant (GNA) required.
• One (1) year of previous experience preferred.
• Current Basic Life Support (BLS) certification required.

Responsibilities

• Take vital signs and monitor patient status.
• Assist with Activities of Daily Living (ADLs) and routine care.
• Perform blood glucose testing and blood draws per nursing plan.
• Document care provided and communicate changes to the care team.
• Support admission, transfer and discharge processes and ensure patient safety.
