Job summary

University of Maryland Medical System seeks a Certified Nursing Assistant/Gerontological Nursing Assistant to provide direct patient care under nursing supervision in a hospital setting. You will take vital signs, assist with ADLs, and support data collection and patient comfort.

Requirements include a high school diploma, Maryland CNA/GNA certification, and BLS. Experience is optional, with preference for prior patient care exposure within a health system.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent required.
• Current Maryland state certification as a CNA or GNA required.
• Current Basic Life Support (BLS) certification required.
• No previous experience required; previous direct patient care experience preferred.

Responsibilities

• Perform blood draws and collect specimen samples, and monitor patient status.
• Record patient care activities, including ADLs and vital signs.
• Assist in admission, transfer and discharge of patients and maintain a safe environment.
