Job summary

Abington Memorial Hospital is seeking a Patient Care Technician for the Emergency Trauma Center evening shift. You will provide designated direct and indirect patient care under licensed clinicians, collaborate with the interprofessional team, and help maintain a safe, efficient unit.

Telehealth tools may be used to support clinical encounters. Requirements include a high school diploma or GED, knowledge of medical terminology, and BLS certification.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or GED required.
• Knowledge of medical terminology and patient care concepts.
• Ability to perform delegated tasks within scope of role.
• Understanding of patient safety and infection prevention principles.

Responsibilities

• Communicates with interprofessional team, patient, family and care partners.
• Performs direct and indirect patient care under supervision of licensed clinicians.
• Maintains a safe patient care environment and supports unit operations.
• Conducts patient rounds, anticipates needs and responds to call lights promptly.
• May serve as virtual safety associate as needed for campus needs.
• Assists with telehealth exams and uses related software and devices.
