Job summary

Abington Memorial Hospital seeks a Patient Care Technician to deliver direct and indirect patient care under the supervision of licensed clinicians. You will collaborate with the care team, respond to patient needs, and help maintain a safe and efficient unit environment.

Responsibilities include assisting with telehealth encounters, supporting equipment and supplies, and participating in rounds while upholding patient-centered care principles.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or GED required.
• Knowledge of medical terminology and patient care needs.
• Ability to perform delegated tasks within scope.
• Knowledge of personal care and hygiene principles.
• Understanding patient safety risks and mitigation.
• Ability to communicate respectfully with patients and families.
• BLS certification required or obtained.

Responsibilities

• Communicate with and support the interprofessional team, patient, family and care partners.
• Perform direct and indirect patient care activities under supervision.
• Promote and maintain a safe patient care environment.
• Assist with maintaining supplies and equipment for unit operations.
• Conduct patient rounds, anticipate needs and respond to call lights promptly.
• May serve as virtual safety associate as needed and assist with telehealth.
• Assist in clinical exams using peripheral devices and telehealth software as directed.
