Job summary

Texoma Medical Center, part of Universal Health Services, Inc., is seeking a Paramedic to provide high-quality patient care in the ED under Medical Director supervision. You will work closely with RNs and physicians to support adult medical and trauma patients.

Requirements include completion of an accredited paramedic program, Texas licensure, and BLS/ECC certifications; on-the-job orientation includes required training and Care handling. Experience preferred but not mandatory.

Qualifications

• Completion of an accredited paramedic program.
• 1 year experience as a Paramedic in a pre-hospital or hospital environment preferred.
• Licensed Paramedic (LP) or Emergency Medical Technician-Paramedic (EMT-P) in the state of Texas required.
• BLS Healthcare Provider course according to RQI program guidelines and ECC Healthcare Provider courses will be provided during new hire orientation or upon transfer, and must be completed prior to working in a clinical setting.
• Handle With Care within 6 months of hire.
• Must demonstrate arrhythmia competency by 90% score on testing within 90 days.

Responsibilities

• The Paramedic provides quality care to patients under the direction of the Medical Director.
• Responsible for direct and indirect patient care within defined scope; collects pertinent data and charts appropriately.
• Works with RNs and Medical Providers to care for adult medical and trauma patients in the ED, including ECG interpretation, IV therapy, and initiation of protocol orders.
