Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in emergency management, criminal justice, disaster management, planning or related field required; 4 years may substitute for education.
• 1–3 years in emergency management planning preferred; public school experience is strongly preferred.
• ICS certifications (100-400, 700, 800) strongly preferred; SRP procedures knowledge beneficial.
• Ability to interpret NIMS and state/local emergency management documents; strong communication skills.
• Ability to coordinate with staff, emergency services and the public; maintain confidentiality.

Responsibilities

• Develops, maintains, and evaluates the district’s Emergency Operations Plan (EOP) and campus safety plans.
• Coordinates district-wide crisis response planning and emergency training for staff and substitutes.
• Plans and conducts drills and exercises across campuses; ensures compliance with TEC requirements.
• Oversees safety audits and maintains SSL rosters; coordinates with local responders and agencies.
• Prepares EAPs for large events; manages EOC activities during incidents and recovery.
• Provides consultation to district leadership and partners; documents after-action reports.
