Job summary

The Baltimore City Office of Emergency Management is seeking an Operations Section Chief for a non-benefit, contractual position. Candidates should hold a bachelor’s degree in public administration, public policy, political science, public health, emergency management, planning, or a related field and have at least 3 years of relevant experience.

Responsibilities include supervising the Duty Officer Program, coordinating with fire, EMS and other responders, training staff in hazardous materials

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in a relevant field with related emergency management experience.
• Strong project management, analytical, and written/oral communication skills.
• Experience supervising staff and coordinating with public safety agencies.

Responsibilities

• Supervise the Duty Officer Program and ensure staffing coverage.
• Coordinate with fire, EMS, and other responders at incidents.
• Train staff in hazardous materials handling and emergency protocols.
• Maintain and improve incident response procedures and reporting.
