Job summary

University of Baltimore seeks an Emergency Management Specialist to support county-wide preparedness, planning, training, and exercises in Howard County, MD. This full-time fixed-term role reports to the Director at UBalt and collaborates with county leadership.

Responsibilities include program support, policy development, and EOC operations, with opportunities to influence protective actions and disaster response readiness across agencies.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree required.
• 3 years professional experience, incl. 1 year in emergency management, public health, or public policy.
• Strong writing and communications skills; ability to present to diverse groups.
• Ability to work independently and with teams; solid organization.

Responsibilities

• Support emergency management programs, policies, and procedures.
• Plan trainings and workshops; deliver trainings and presentations.
• Participate in project evaluation, grants, and tool implementation.
• Support policy development and EOC activities.
• Coordinate with county and regional agencies during activations.
