Job summary

AC Disaster Consulting seeks an Operations Section Chief to lead incident coordination at CO EOC sites. This temporary, on-site role requires 12-hour shifts and flexibility for evenings/weekends, with compensation of $40–$55/hour.

You will work with the SERT Chief and Planning Chief to set operational objectives, coordinate resource deployment, and ensure effective communication between state and local agencies during emergencies.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Emergency Management or other applicable field.
• Experience working within the Incident Command Framework at state or federal levels.
• Experience with financial management applications.
• Experience working in an Emergency Operations Center or disaster response with at least 2 activations or exercises in supervisory or key support capacity.
• Capable of critical decision-making in a highly charged and dynamic environment.
• Proficient in Microsoft Office 365, particularly Excel.
• IS-100, IS-200, IC... training completed prior to requesting the task book.

Responsibilities

• Coordinate priority missions and resource deployment with Operations Section Branch Directors.
• Collaborate with AHIMT Unit Leader to deploy teams and manage mutual aid requests.
• Identify resource needs beyond state inventories and communicate with the Logistics Chief.
• Ensure IAP objectives align with local needs by coordinating with field staff.
• Deploy and maintain communications with liaisons in affected areas and coordinate with ESFs.
• Participate in Incident Action Plan meetings and provide an operational perspective.
• Oversee IAP implementation and ensure leadership decisions translate into action.
