Job summary

UAB Medicine in Alabama seeks an Advanced Practice Provider (APN/PA) to deliver medical care in the emergency department. The APP will evaluate critically ill patients, perform procedures, document thoroughly, and coordinate patient care under supervision of a collaborating physician. Shifts are flexi/PRN with schedules from 7 a.m.–7 p.m.

and 3–11 p.m. The role requires state licensure, BLS, and may require ACLS/PALS.

Qualifications

• Master's degree in Nursing with NP specialization and board certification.
• Licensure as CRNP in Alabama or PA-C certification is required.
• Basic Life Support (BLS) certification is required or obtained within 30 days.

Responsibilities

• Provide medical care and treatment for emergency department patients.
• Evaluate and manage critically ill patients and coordinate care.
• Perform procedures within scope of practice under physician supervision.
• Transcribe notes, take health histories, diagnose and institute emergency measures.
• Coordinate plans for care, discharge and referrals; participate in quality initiatives.
