Job summary

Penn State Health Department of Emergency Medicine is seeking a Vice Chair of Education to lead the educational mission across undergraduate, graduate medical education, and advanced practice provider education. The VC will align initiatives, measure progress, and report outcomes to the Department Chair.

The role includes budget oversight for educational programs, development of a Grand Rounds program, and active faculty recruitment and mentorship.

Qualifications

• MD/DO with EM board certification or eligibility.
• Minimum 5 years of medical education leadership experience.
• Scholarly track record with peer‑reviewed publications, conference presentations.

Responsibilities

• Set educational strategy for the Department of Emergency Medicine in collaboration with the education team.
• Oversee compliance with LCME and ACGME educational standards.
• Prepare the department budget for educational activities and initiatives.
• Develop a Grand Rounds program and promote it institution-wide.
• Lead faculty recruitment and mentorship in education.
