Job summary

Penn State Health Medical Group LLC in Hershey, PA, seeks an academic leader to set the educational strategy for the Department of Emergency Medicine and oversee residency, fellowship, and medical student programs. You will ensure compliance with LCME/ACGME standards and help budget education initiatives, reporting to the Department Chair.

Ideal candidates hold an MD/DO, are board-certified in Emergency Medicine, and have 5+ years in medical education leadership with a proven scholarship record.

Qualifications

• Medical Doctor or Doctor of Osteopathic Medicine.
• Board Certification/Board eligible in Emergency Medicine.
• Minimum of 5 years’ experience in medical education leadership.
• Track record of scholarship: publications in peer review journals, presentation at conferences.

Responsibilities

• Set educational strategy for the Department of Emergency Medicine in collaboration with the education team.
• Measure progress through defined goals; report out on those goals regularly to the Department leadership.
• Provide oversight of departmental compliance with regulatory standards for educational programs (e.g., LCME and ACGME).
• Assist with preparation of the educational components of the annual budget for the Department of Emergency Medicine.
• Develop a departmental Grand Rounds program and publicize it throughout the institution.
• Participate in faculty recruitment and attend leadership meetings.
• Serve as a member of relevant departmental councils and committees.
