Job summary

The University of Colorado Anschutz Medical Campus Department of Emergency Medicine seeks an academic physician educator to serve as Associate Vice Chair for Education (AVC-E). This role leads education strategy across UME, GME, fellow education, simulation, AI tooling, and faculty development, reporting to the Vice Chair for Academic Affairs.

Qualifications

• MD or DO degree from an accredited institution.
• Board certification in Emergency Medicine.
• Eligible for an unrestricted Colorado medical license.
• Current academic appointment at the rank of Associate Professor or Professor.
• Demonstrated leadership in medical education and education program leadership.

Responsibilities

• Lead strategy for DEM education portfolio with measurable goals.
• Oversee allocation of education resources, budgets, and staffing.
• Advance educational scholarship and dissemination.
• Champion curriculum innovation and educational technologies.
• Develop succession plans and leadership pipelines for education.
• Translate strategy into executable initiatives with timelines and milestones.
