Job summary

The Wellstar Health System is seeking an Emergency Medicine Pharmacist to provide evidence-based medication care in the ED at Wellstar MCG Health Medical Center in Georgia. Shifts are daytime or evening in rotation with the EM group, focusing on transitions of care from ED to inpatient floors or ICU.

You will verify orders for adult ED patients, educate patients and teams, participate in quality and safety initiatives, and support the Pharmacy Department's education and compliance with system

Qualifications

• Active Georgia pharmacist license required at time of employment.
• PGY1 and/or PGY2 residency in critical care or emergency medicine preferred.

Responsibilities

• Provides clinical pharmaceutical care to and verifies orders for adult ED patients.
• Prevents, detects, and resolves medication-related problems with evidence-based, patient-centered recommendations as a member of the ED team.
• Provides medication education to patients, families, and interdisciplinary teams.
• Participates in quality improvement, patient safety initiatives, and adverse event reporting.
• Precepts pharmacy residents and students when possible.
• Complies with Wellstar Health System policies and procedures.
