Job summary

Wellstar MCG Health Medical Center is seeking a Pharmacist to provide clinical pharmaceutical care, ensuring evidence-based medication use and patient-centered care within a collaborative team.

You will supervise pharmacy technicians, participate in quality improvement, teach and precept residents, and contribute to medication safety and cost-effective distribution in a PRN 8 hours per week schedule.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s Pharmacy required; Doctorate Pharmacy preferred.
• Minimum 2 years in Pharmacy as a pharmacy technician, intern or pharmacist.
• Registered Pharmacist (RPH) preferred.

Responsibilities

• Provides clinical pharmaceutical care to patients.
• Prevents, detects, and resolves medication-related problems and makes evidence-based, patient-centered recommendations.
• Participates as a member of interdisciplinary care teams and communicates follow-up with the team.
• Verifies patient medication orders for appropriateness and accuracy.
• Provides medication education to patients, families, and the team.
• Engages in quality improvement and patient safety initiatives; supports medication use evaluation.
