Job summary

West Virginia University Health System is seeking an Advanced Practice Professional to join the Emergency Department teams serving Bluefield Regional Medical Center and Princeton Community Hospital. The APP will assess, diagnoses, and manage emergency patients, coordinating with physicians, nurses, and other clinicians to deliver evidence-based care.

The role requires an NP/PA with ED experience, WV licensure eligibility, and AHA certifications.

Qualifications

• Graduate of a CCNE-accredited nursing program with a Master’s Degree in Nursing.
• National Certification by one of the recognized APRN Certification Centers.
• Licensure or eligibility for licensure as an RN and APRN in West Virginia.
• American Heart Association BLS, ACLS and ATLS certification required.

Responsibilities

• Manages comprehensive and individualized care for emergency medicine patients and families.
• Completes pre-procedure evaluations and integrated assessments.
• Orders tests or consults as appropriate per guidelines and protocols.
• Documents findings clearly in the medical record and coordinates discharge planning.
• Promotes education of residents, medical and nursing students, and staff; participates in program development.
• Leads and coordinates interdisciplinary teams to improve patient outcomes.
