Job summary

West Virginia University Health System is seeking a full-time Advanced Practice Professional to join the Emergency Medicine team at Weirton Medical Center in Weirton, WV. The APP will provide high-quality, patient-centered care, working with physicians, nurses, and other professionals to assess, diagnose and manage patients within their scope of practice.

Qualifications

• Graduate of a CCNE accredited nursing program with Master's Degree in Nursing.
• National Certification by one of the recognized APRN Certification Centers.
• Licensure or eligibility for licensure as RN and APRN in West Virginia.
• American Heart Association BLS, ACLS and ATLS certification required.

Responsibilities

• Manages comprehensive emergency medicine care and coordinates patient discharge when applicable.
• Performs and documents diagnostic tests per guidelines and scope of practice.
• Collaborates with the DEM team and hospital staff to improve patient outcomes.
• Provides education to nursing staff, hospital staff, patients and families.
