UP Health System Portage in Hancock, MI is seeking a Board Certified NP/PA to join our Emergency Medicine team. Work with a collegial team of ED physicians at a ACS-verified Level III trauma center serving about 10,000 patients annually.

The role includes 8-bed + 3 trauma bays, access to Meditech Magic EMR, ATLS certification, and a supportive hospital system within Lifepoint Health. Compensation features base salary with RVU bonus, sign-on, relocation, time off, retirement, CME allowance,

Qualifications

• Board Certified Advanced Practice Provider (NP/PA) with Emergency Medicine scope.
• ATLS or equivalent trauma training.
• Ability to work in a fast-paced ED environment.

Responsibilities

• Provide comprehensive emergency care in a Level III ED.
• Collaborate with ED physicians and hospital staff.
• Utilize Meditech EMR for patient documentation and orders.

Position Detail

UP Health System – Portage invites Board Certified Advanced Practice Providers to join our Emergency Medicine team in Hancock, MI, nestled in the heart of Michigan's stunning Upper Peninsula.

NP/PA to be considered.

• 216 8-hour night shifts per year (Mon‑Fri, 1pm to 9pm)
• Join a collegial and supportive team of 5 employed ED physicians
• ACS‑verified Level III trauma center with an average annual census of around 10,000 patients
• Support Systems:
  • ATLS certification
  • ED physicians provide basic admin orders for hospitalists from 5pm to 7am
  • Hospital EMR: Meditech Magic
  • Digital radiology, point‑of‑care ultrasound, 24/7 on‑site CT, MRI available Mon‑Fri, 8am to 5pm
  • Nurse triage process
  • Telehealth psychiatrist assistance for psychiatric consultations
  • 11 beds inclusive of 8 private rooms and 3 trauma bay beds
