Job summary

UP Health System Portage in Hancock, MI seeks an NP/PA for its Emergency Medicine team. The role features 12-hour shifts (12pm–10pm) within a collegial ED of five physicians in a Level III trauma center, supported by Meditech Magic EMR and advanced imaging.

Telehealth psychiatry, 24/7 CT, MRI M-F, and on-site resources ensure comprehensive patient care. Competitive hourly rate with sign-on and relocation assistance, plus a 401K, health benefits, CME allowance, and malpractice coverage.

Qualifications

• ATLS certification is required.
• Experience in emergency department settings preferred.
• Proficiency with Meditech EMR and imaging workflows is beneficial.

Responsibilities

• Utilize on-site imaging, ultrasound, and telehealth resources to support patient care.

Position NP/PA to be considered

• 182, 10-hr shifts: 12pm to 10pm

• Join a collegial and supportive team of 5 employed ED physicians

• ACS-verified Level III trauma center with an average annual census of around 10,000 patients

• Support Systems:

  • ATLS certification

  • ED physicians provide basic admin orders for hospitalists from 5pm to 7am

  • Hospital EMR: Meditech Magic

  • Digital radiology, point-of-care ultrasound, 24/7 on-site CT, MRI available Mon-Fri, 8am to 5pm

  • Nurse triage process

  • Telehealth psychiatrist assistance for psychiatric consultations

  • 11 beds inclusive of 8 private rooms and 3 trauma bay beds
