Summary
Job Description
Maintain facility, customer, and employee security and safety during assigned shift. Escort all money transfers throughout the casino, and escort armored car personnel while at the facility. Provide emergency medical assistance and first aid to patrons and employees as needed, within the scope of EMT certification and training.
Essential Skills, Duties & Responsibilities
- Patrol the casino gaming floor, hallways, exterior, and parking areas to ensure safety of resources, facilities, customers, and employees.
- Provide emergency medical assistance and first aid to patrons and employees.
- Ensure compliance with Casino policies, State, and local laws.
- Provide traffic control as necessary to ensure the safe flow of traffic and parking.
- Observe casino patrons, employees, and property to identify and deter criminal or unusual activity.
- Assist in the investigation of guest concerns and criminal activity as needed.
- Complete detailed reports using a computer.
- Escort patrons between parking lot and casino as necessary or requested.
- Coordinate investigations or emergency activities with law enforcement, Tribal Police, and emergency service providers.
- Physically control disorderly patrons as needed.
- Conduct regular foot patrols.
- Provide security over BVA drop and conduct TG drop as needed.
- Work effectively with coworkers, the public, and law enforcement officials.
- Communicate effectively both orally and in writing.
- Ensure compliance with internal control policies related to the job.
- Perform other duties as assigned.
Minimum Qualifications
- 2 years experience in law enforcement, military, or security, or current P.O.S.T. certification, or equivalent certificates (guard card, pepper spray, handcuff training).
- Guard Card (preferred).
- EMT License (required).
- Valid California Driver’s License (required).
- Able to type at least 20 WPM.
- Willing to learn proper security procedures and laws applicable to the casino environment.
- Ability to walk and stand for long periods.
Education
- High School Diploma or GED (required).
License Requirements
- Pass pre-employment drug screen and background check, maintain a Pauma Gaming Commission License.
Physical and Mental Requirements
- Constant walking, standing, hearing, seeing, talking, balancing, bending, reaching, twisting, holding, wrist motion, and stooping.
Working Conditions
- Indoor or outdoor work, with indoor environment being climate-controlled and outdoor conditions possibly extreme (cold, heat, rain, fumes, smoke, dust).
