Job summary

Ambulnz by DocGo is hiring Emergency Medical Technicians (EMT) in Freeport, NY. This role supports 24/7 emergency transport, with shifts ranging across 9–10 hours, including full-time and part-time options. You will provide medical transport, maintain equipment, complete reports, and adhere to state protocols.

The position requires NY EMT and BLS certs, strong communication, and physical strength to lift 125 lbs+. A Pilot Program offers a $26/hour rate for eligible shifts.

Qualifications

• Valid NY State EMT certification.
• Valid BLS certification with American Heart Association or equivalent.
• Excellent verbal communication skills.
• Must be able to lift, push, and pull 125 lbs. or more.
• Successfully complete Physical Aptitude Test.
• Pilot Program eligibility: able to work available Pilot Program shifts.

Responsibilities

• Collaborate with EMTs and management to assure top tier patient care.
• Shift availability may vary due to 24-hour operations.
• Maintain up-to-date standards of care and certifications.
• Provide courteous, professional interaction with patients and staff.
• Recognize and treat medical conditions per State/County protocols.
• Provide top tier medical transport to facilities per policies and procedures.

• Maintain rig cleanliness and stocking.
• Gather patient billing information and signatures.
• Submit pre-hospital patient care reports.
• Respond promptly to Dispatch Center assignments.
• Transport patients according to policies.

Together with DocGo's integrated Ambulnz medical transport services, DocGo is bridging the gap between physical and virtual care.*Responsibilities:** Collaborate with your fellow EMTs and management to assure top tier patient care.* Be flexible as emergency services operate on a 24-hour clock - your work shift schedule may vary due to the nature of the business.* Remain up to date with current standards of care, including equipment functions and uses and all certifications, licenses and registrations.* Conduct yourself in a courteous, helpful, and professional manner when dealing with patients, co-workers, supervisors, and the public.* Recognize and treat any medical condition with appropriate techniques, equipment, and knowledge of all State and County protocols.* Provide top tier medical transport to medical facilities by assuming responsibilities for medical care of the patient and carrying out established policies and procedures.* Operate and drive the ambulance in accordance with safety policies and laws, showing due regard for all applicable State and Regional Regulations (DMV & DOH)* Maintain rig cleanliness by stocking the rigs and taking ownership of your space.* Gather patient billing information and appropriate billing signatures.* Prepare and submit a pre-hospital patient care report.* Respond promptly to assignments as required by the Dispatch Center.* Transport patients in accordance with outlined policies and procedures* Other tasks as assigned*Qualifications:** Valid NY State EMT certification* Valid BLS (Basic Life Support) certification with American Heart Association or equivalent* Excellent verbal communication skills* Must be able to lift, push, and pull 125 lbs. or more* Successfully complete Physical Aptitude Test*Preferred Qualification:** Valid Driver’s license, (minimum of 2 years) with an acceptable driving record, preferred*Pilot Program:*Ambulnz by DocGo has a Pilot Program you’re able to apply into once you are hired and pass training.
