Job summary

Conemaugh Memorial Medical Center in Johnstown, PA, part of Lifepoint Health, is seeking an Emergency Medical Technician (EMT) for its DART Transport Team. You will respond to emergency calls, provide patient care within your scope, and ensure safe transportation to receiving facilities.

Ideal candidates have a High School diploma or equivalent, EMT certification with EMSVO endorsement, and a PA driver’s license.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or equivalent required.
• Two years of college preferred.
• Graduate of an EMT program.
• Emergency Medical Technician (EMT) with EMSVO endorsement required.
• Current Pennsylvania EMT certification with active EMSVO endorsement
• Current Pennsylvania driver's license with excellent driving record and no restrictions

Responsibilities

• Responds to emergency medical calls and provides patient care as directed or determined necessary.
• Safely operates and navigates an ambulance to emergency scenes, patient locations, and receiving medical facilities.
• Assesses emergency scenes, ensures scene safety, and requests additional assistance when necessary.
• Determines the nature and extent of a patient’s illness or injury and obtains relevant medical history from available sources.
• Administers emergency medical care within the EMT scope of practice, including patient stabilization, monitoring, and resuscitation.
• Provides ongoing patient assessment and care during transportation to receiving medical facilities.
• Communicates patient conditions, observations, and changes in status to appropriate medical personnel.
• Follows directives from supervising physicians, registered nurses, and established medical protocols.
• Accurately documents patient assessments, care provided, and relevant observations.
• Maintains ambulance readiness by inspecting equipment, restocking medical supplies, and cleaning the ambulance as necessary.
• Collaborates effectively with EMS personnel, hospital staff, and other healthcare professionals to support safe patient care.
• Demonstrates sound judgment, professionalism, and the ability to work independently with minimal supervision.

Education

High School Diploma or equivalent

Two years of college (preferred)

Graduate of EMT program

Pennsylvania EMT certification with EMSVO endorsement

The Conemaugh DART Transport Team is dedicated to providing safe, professional, and compassionate emergency medical services and patient transportation throughout the Conemaugh Health System and surrounding region.

Our team works closely with EMS personnel, physicians, registered nurses, and other healthcare professionals to ensure patients receive timely, high-quality care during emergency responses and medical transportation.

As an Emergency Medical Technician (EMT), you will respond to calls for emergency medical services, assess patient conditions, provide care within your scope of practice, and ensure safe transportation to receiving medical facilities. This fast-paced position requires critical thinking, sound judgment, and the ability to remain calm and effective in stressful situations.
