Seneca County EMS seeks full-time and part-time EMT-B employees to provide pre-hospital emergency care as part of their sustainable EMS system. The role requires flexible hours, with minimum monthly hours set, and includes a comprehensive benefits package for full-time employees. EMT Certification, Ohio Driver’s, High school equivalent; BLS Certification (Preferred)
Essential Functions of the Position:
Seneca County is building a sustainable EMS system. We are currently hiring full-time and part-time EMT-B employees. Hours are flexible but a minimum of 24 hours a month are required for part-time positions. Part-time employees are not eligible for benefits offered by Seneca County.
Under the direction of the Emergency Services Director and in conjunction with a licensed medical doctor or doctor of osteopathic medicine and surgery, provides all pre-hospital emergency patient care up to the EMT level; determines nature and extent of illness or injury and provides emergency medical assistance maintains patient’s breathing by intubation; assess vital signs; controls bleeding; assists childbirth; immobilizes fractures; management of mentally disturbed patients, and initial care of poison and burn patients; where patients must in emergency be extricated from entrapment, assesses extent of injury and gives emergency care communicates with patients, families and other emergency personnel on scene; maintains radio communications with hospitals; transports patients to medical facilities.
Tests and maintains basic life support equipment and instruments for proper operation; inventories and restocks medical supplies; assists in maintaining inventory or medical supplies and medications; inspects, cleans, and performance maintenance on ambulance; maintains station.
Maintains records and logs of runs and treatment provided; maintains required certifications; attends trainings and seminars to maintain proficiency and certifications; operates emergency medical vehicle in safe manner.
