Job Summary:

Performs safe transport of non-emergent clients. Provides on-the-job training for Medical Transport Driver and Emergency Medical Technician roles, including coursework for Emergency Medical Technician national certification. Emergency Medical Technician training includes team-based care of the sick and injured and basic life support for EMS requests.

Job Duties:
  1. Operates the emergency vehicle in compliance with Pennsylvania Motor Vehicle Code for safe travel.
  2. Communicates and coordinates with dispatchers, supervisors, and leaders.
  3. Maintains equipment and vehicles, reporting deficiencies.
  4. Documents patient care and transportation accurately.
  5. Undergoes training in regulatory requirements, CPR, AED, First Aid, customer service, EMT didactic program, vehicle operations, lifting, mass casualty incidents, trauma life support, and EMS procedures.

Work is performed in a clinical environment. Employees must meet job obligations and organizational policies. Additional competencies may be required as per departmental orientation.
