Inova Fairfax Medical Campus is seeking a dedicated Emergency Medical Technician to join a Level 1 Trauma Center. This full-time day shift runs Monday–Friday with rotating weekends (6:45am–7:15pm).

Qualifications

• 1 year of EMT-B experience.
• Active BLS and EMT-B certification; must be on NREMT or possess a Virginia EMT license.
• Able to read, write, speak and understand English; basic computer skills.

Responsibilities

• Documents all required fields in medical records, computer entries and charges.
• Applies orthopedic splinting devices.
• Collects patient specimens following department/facility policies and procedures.
• Maintains inventory of equipment and supplies to optimize delivery of patient care and treatment.
• Assists with patient transport for testing, admission/discharge, interfacility and aeromedical (per policy of Operating Unit).
• Performs 12 lead ECG and places patients on continuous cardiac monitoring.
• Performs patient phlebotomy following department/facility policies and procedures.
• Provides wound care according to department clinical practice standards and acts as a resource to physicians and nurses to assist with optimum care.
• May perform additional duties as assigned.

Emergency Medical Technician 2 Job Responsibilities

Shift: (6:45am-7:15pm)

Schedule: Full Time, Three 12-hour shifts weekly

Training: All candidates must be able to attend an initial 6-week training, Monday-Friday.

Minimum Qualifications

• Experience: 1 year of EMT-B experience
• Education: High School Diploma or GED
• Certification: BLS and EMT-B; must either be active on the National Registry of Emergency Medical Technicians (NREMT) or possess a current Virginia EMT License/Certification
• Special Skills: Able to read, write, speak and understand English. Computer skills.
