Job summary

Avera Granite Falls Hospital is looking for an Emergency Medical Responder (EMR) to support basic life safety under the direction of an EMT. You will respond to emergency calls in accordance with state standards and established protocols.

This PRN position includes rotating days, evenings, nights, weekends and holidays and pays $18.00–$23.50 per hour. Responsibilities include acting as driver or secondary patient attendant, performing duties within scope of practice, maintaining skills, and

Qualifications

• Must have a valid driver's license upon hire.
• Active Emergency Medical Responder certification (MEMSRB).
• Visual acuity and ability to communicate effectively with others.
• Ability to work rotating shifts, including days/evenings/nights/weekends/holidays.

Responsibilities

• Serve as driver of the emergency vehicle or as a secondary patient attendant under the direction of an EMT.
• Carry out all functions within scope of practice in a confident, high-quality and safe manner.
• Demonstrate sound judgment in stress situations and provide emotional stability to patients and affected individuals.
• Respond to calls in a timely manner.
• Maintain technical skills within expected standard of practice.
