Job summary

Avera Granite Falls Hospital is seeking a PRN EMT/Driver to join a rotating schedule. You will support basic life support under an EMT and respond to emergency calls in accordance with state standards and department protocols.

You will drive or assist as a patient attendant, maintain skills, and work with a compassionate multidisciplinary team to move health forward for patients and our community.

Qualifications

• Must hold a valid Drivers License and MEMSRB Emergency Medical Responder license.
• High school diploma or GED required.
• Ability to communicate effectively and work under pressure.

Responsibilities

• Serve as either driver of the emergency vehicle or as a secondary patient attendant under the direction of an EMT.
• Carry out all functions within scope of practice in a confident, high-quality and safe manner.
• Demonstrates sound judgment in stress situations and provides emotional stability to patients and affected individuals.

A Brief Overview

Accountable for basic life support service under the direction of an Emergency Medical Technician (EMT) and makes emergency response calls in accordance with the established state standards and following standing orders and department protocols.

The individual must be able to work the hours specified. Required Education, License/Certification, or Work Experience:

• Drivers License - Licensing Board Upon Hire and
• Emergency Medical Responder - Minnesota Emergency Medical Services Regulatory Board (MEMSRB) An active license in the state of practice Upon Hire

Preferred Education, License/Certification, or Work Experience:

• High School or GED Equivalent
