Job summary

Weber County is seeking a full-time Emergency Management professional to oversee CERT, Emergency Communications, volunteer programs, and logistics for the GIS/EOC and related divisions. The role includes planning, training, and coordinating with local agencies to support disaster response and preparedness.

The position requires an associate degree in emergency management or related field, CERT certification within 1 year, and willingness to obtain additional CERT credentials within 2 years.

Qualifications

• Associate degree or higher in emergency management or related field required.
• Experience in emergency response, public safety or related area preferred.
• Completion of CERT certification within 1 year of starting.
• CERT Train the Trainer and CERT Program Manager certificates within 2 years.
• FEMA Professional Development Series or Advanced/Basic Academy training preferred.

Responsibilities

• Coordinate Weber County CERT meetings, agenda, minutes, and trainings.
• Support Emergency Communications/ARES program and monthly meetings.
• Assist with volunteer programs, donations management, and LEPC meetings.
• Maintain equipment inventories and logistics for ECC/Mobile Command.
• Assist with grant management and coordination across regional partners.
• Provide administrative support and schedule training/exercises.
