Job summary

City of Perris is seeking an experienced emergency management professional to lead citywide preparedness, response, recovery, mitigation, and resilience programs. You will coordinate projects, grants, and training initiatives, and serve as liaison with local, state, and federal agencies.

The role oversees program development, performance metrics, and compliance, while guiding staff and volunteers in emergency operations and planning activities.

Qualifications

• Two years of increasingly responsible experience in emergency management.
• Bachelor’s degree from an accredited college or university with major coursework in public or business administration, emergency management, or a related field.
• Strong knowledge of SEMS/NIMS and emergency planning best practices.

Responsibilities

• Plan, coordinate, and administer Citywide emergency management programs and initiatives.
• Coordinate grant-funded projects, administer grants, and track expenditures and reporting.
• Develop, maintain, and evaluate emergency management plans and continuity of operations procedures.
• Coordinate training programs and CERT, CPR/First Aid for staff and public.
• Liaise with local, regional, state, and federal agencies on emergency management matters.
• Prepare reports, presentations, and recommendations for City leadership.
