Job summary

University Hospitals Pain Management is seeking a full-time Emergency Preparedness Coordinator to join the Elyria Medical Center team. You will coordinate the Emergency Operations Manual, training, and exercises to enhance hospital readiness.

The role plans and evaluates drills, represents the hospital at regional meetings, manages grant funding for emergency preparedness, and ensures PHI compliance across all activities.

Responsibilities

• Maintain and continually update the Emergency Operations Plan (25%)
• Plan, execute, and evaluate disaster drills &/or events to improve hospital readiness (30%)
• Represent hospital at regional coalition meetings and regional exercises (10%).
• Manage grant funding opportunities and maintain grant funded inventory (10%).
• Document after action reviews and track compliance with improvement plans (10%).
• Maintain inventory of all disaster related equipment and PPE (5%).
• Prepare and execute training in hospital incident command and specialized response teams such as the HERT Team. (5%)
• Respond and support emergency/incidents as they occur (5%)

• Must abide by all requirements to safely and securely maintain Protected Health Information (PHI) for our patients. Annual training, the UH Code of Conduct and UH policies and procedures are in place to address appropriate use of PHI in the workplace.
