City of Schertz seeks an Emergency Management Coordinator (EMC) to lead the Office of Emergency Management, coordinating multi‑jurisdictional disaster preparedness, response, and recovery across three counties. The EMC reports to the Mayor and Executive Team and guides policy, planning, and operations for life safety and continuity.

The role requires a bachelor’s degree in emergency management or related field and at least five years’ experience with two years in a supervisory capacity.

• Requires bachelor’s degree in emergency management, public administration, fire science, or related field and five years of related work experience with at least two years of supervisory experience.

Responsabilidades

• Coordinate emergency management and homeland security activities for OEM.
• Advise the Mayor and Executive Team on disaster mitigation, preparedness, response, and recovery.
• Maintain ESFs and CEMP to meet state and federal standards.
• Lead interjurisdictional initiatives across multiple counties.
• Identify and manage grants to enhance city capabilities and maintain reports.
• Ensure COOP readiness and oversight of EOC operations and staffing.
