Job summary

City of Prescott is seeking an Emergency Manager in the Fire Department to lead the city-wide all-hazards emergency management program. You will plan, coordinate, and oversee preparedness, response, recovery, and mitigation activities, including training, exercises, budgets, and EOC operations with diverse partners.

The role requires an associate degree or higher in a related field, with a preference for a bachelor’s degree and 5 years of emergency management experience.

Qualifications

• Associate degree (AA/AS) or higher in Homeland Security, Emergency Management, Public Administration, Business Management or related field.
• Bachelor's degree preferred; five years in emergency/disaster management is also preferred.

Responsibilities

• Plan, organize and administer city-wide emergency management program activities.
• Oversee Emergency Operations Center (EOC) and train EOC staff.
• Develop and manage plans, budgets, training and exercises for preparedness and response.
• Coordinate mutual aid and liaise with regional, state and federal partners.
• Prepare annual operating budget and reports; communicate with City leadership.
