Job summary

MoDOT is seeking an on-call Emergency Maintenance Equipment Operator at the Iberia Maintenance Facility to perform routine snow removal operations under direct supervision. Hours vary with weather events and a temporary $3/hour emergency adjustment applies during winter operations.

Key duties include plowing snow and applying ice control materials, and performing basic vehicle and facilities maintenance. CDL A or B is required with specific interstate status and background checks are mandatory.

Qualifications

• At least 18 years of age.
• Commercial Driver's License (CDL) Class A or B with no air brake restrictions and interstate status (Either EI or NI).
• Successful completion of a criminal background check and drug screen.

Responsibilities

• Operates vehicles to plow snow and spread ice control materials or to warn oncoming traffic.
• Cleans and performs routine maintenance on vehicles, equipment, buildings and grounds.
• Performs other responsibilities as required or assigned.

Job description

This is an on-call position - hours will vary depending on weather events. This position is eligible for a temporary emergency operations adjustment of $3 per hour when handling winter/emergency operations activities.

Job Location:Iberia Maintenance Facility

EMERGENCY WAGE RATES:

• 1st Season: $20.00 hourly
• 2nd and 3rd Season: $21.11 hourly
• 4th Season or more: $22.37 hourly

Special Working Conditions:

• Job may require overtime and nighttime work.
• Job requires outdoor work that involves exposure to physical hazards, health and safety risks, and/or adverse or otherwise undesirable characteristics in the environment, including risk of physical injury from carrying out duties in heavy traffic areas, on or near heavy equipment or machinery, and with hazardous chemicals or materials.
