Job summary

MoDOT's Versailles Maintenance Facility is seeking an on-call Emergency Maintenance Equipment Operator to support snow removal operations. Hours vary with weather events and compensation includes a temporary emergency adjustment of $3 per hour during winter operations.

You'll operate plow trucks and apply ice-control materials, perform routine vehicle and equipment upkeep, and work under direct supervision. CDL required; overtime and night work may be needed.

• CDL Class A or B with interstate status and no air brake restrictions.
• Must be at least 18 years old.
• Successful completion of a background check and drug screen.

Job description

This is an on-call position - hours will vary depending on weather events. This position is eligible for a temporary emergency operations adjustment of $3 per hour when handling winter/emergency operations activities.

Job Location:Versailles Maintenance Facility

EMERGENCY WAGE RATES:

1st Season: $20.00 hourly

2nd and 3rd Season: $21.11 hourly

4th Season or more: $22.37 hourly

What you'll do:

• Operates vehicles to plow snow and spread ice control materials or to warn oncoming traffic. Cleans and performs routine maintenance on vehicles, equipment, buildings and grounds. Performs other responsibilities as required or assigned.

Minimum Qualifications:

• At least 18 years of age.
• Commercial Driver's License (CDL) Class A or B with no air brake restrictions and interstate status (either Excepted Interstate [EI] or Non-Excepted Interstate [NI]).
• Successful completion of a criminal background check and drug screen.

Special Working Conditions:

• Job may require overtime and nighttime work.
• Job requires outdoor work that involves exposure to physical hazards, health and safety risks, and/or adverse or otherwise undesirable characteristics in the environment, including risk of physical injury from carrying out duties in heavy traffic areas, on or near heavy equipment or machinery, and with hazardous chemicals or materials.
