Qualifikationen

• Trauma (or EGS) Registry OR verified ICD10 coding experience or certification(s).
• 1 year of experience abstracting medical information from EMR.
• Ability to participate in and pass ACS NSQIP SCR course within 1 year of hire.
• Ability to participate in and pass TOPIC Course and ACS Quality Improvement Course within 1 year of hire.
• Complete 24 hours of trauma-related Continuing Education during each ACS verification cycle.
• ICD-10 refresher course every five years.
• Obtain CAISS within five years of hire.

Aufgaben

• Participates in registry activities to obtain/maintain ACS Verification for EGS Facility.
• Reviews EMR for identification of diagnoses and data required by ACS.
• Assigns ICD-10-CM and ICD-10-PCS codes based on current standards.
• Collaborates with stakeholders to ensure complete documentation.
• Adheres to Official AIS and AAAM coding policies.
• Abstacts pertinent data with ≥95% accuracy.
• Completes 24 hours of CE during each ACS cycle.
• Prepares data for ACS-NSQIP and State of Utah submissions.
• Participates in education and quality improvement activities.
