Job summary

MacQueen Equipment Group is seeking a field service technician to perform preventive maintenance, inspections, and repairs on fire and rescue equipment across western Michigan.

You will diagnose issues, test SCBA systems, stay current with manufacturer updates, and document work. This role requires travel, customer interaction, and a commitment to safety.

Experience and a valid license are required; training and certifications will be provided as needed.

Qualifications

• 2+ years of hands-on technical experience or 5 years of experience in a related industry.
• Mechanical aptitude and the ability to troubleshoot, maintain, and repair equipment.
• A valid driver's license with an acceptable driving record.
• Strong communication skills and the ability to work directly with customers.
• Good organizational skills, attention to detail, and the ability to manage multiple service needs.
• Comfortable using Microsoft Office and learning new equipment, technology, and service systems.
• Willingness to complete manufacturer training and certifications as needed.

Responsibilities

• Perform annual preventative maintenance, inspections, and repairs on fire and rescue equipment, including extrication tools, pumps, and breathing air compressors.
• Conduct SCBA flow testing, certification, troubleshooting, and repairs to ensure equipment meets required standards.
• Serve as a technical resource for customers, helping diagnose equipment issues and recommend solutions.
• Stay current on manufacturer service updates, product improvements, and maintenance requirements.
• Document service work, inspection results, and repairs accurately.
• Help keep the equipment first responders depend on safe, reliable, and ready for action.
